Google Pixel 8 Software Update Policy

Google has recently set a new standard with its latest Pixel 8 series, committing to receive a massive seven major OS updates, which is astonishing and amazing at the same time. Whereas, most of its smartphones usually come with the software update promise of up to three major OS updates with five years of security patches, respectively.

As announced and confirmed by Google, the latest Google Pixel 8 is committed to receiving seven major OS updates and seven years of security patch updates. That means, launching with Android 14-based Pixel UI, the device will be getting major OS updates until Android 21, while security patch support until 2030, or whatever its parent company decides.
